My friend will be heading to Atlanta tomorrow. Her daughter will be having major surgery on Monday. I don't think there is a word for how crazy scary that is. Fifteen hours of surgery - FIFTEEN. I cannot imagine what she, as a mom, is feeling. I can tell you that being a friend sitting on the sidelines? It sucks this Inability to Know and this Inability to Fix. I am the person that wants to Help and Fix and Make Things Better. I want to Do Something To Help. And I can't.
I am the person that when the book gets too suspenseful flips to the last page to make sure everything turns out okay! And now we are at that moment when I want to flip to the end to See That Everything Is Okay but what I'm left to do instead? Is keep praying for Rachael's Miracle, to trust and to have faith.
We are working to cover Rachael with prayer - it is amazing seeing all the people signing up to pray at specific times over the next week. If you haven't signed up and are feeling led to, visit the website to sign up at http://www1.mysignup.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?datafile=prayers4rachael&fb_source=message We aren't limiting our prayers to our signed-up time but it is awesome knowing that at that specific hour of the day? Someone is dedicated to lifting her up.
Pray for Rachael. Pray for John & Christin. And Sarah. Pray for the surgeons, the doctors and nurses and every person that will be there Monday. God's got the Steven's family in His hands and He is going to carry them much like the Footprints poem says.
We love you Rachael, Christin and John! Praying for and Believing in Miracles!
